 The legacy of the late Jerome Brown, Philadelphia Eagle defensive lineman and Hernando High School three sport letterman, lives on in Brooksville, with the Jerome Brown Community Center.
The Jerome Brown Community Center (JBCC), which opened in May 2000 is an outstanding multi-purpose recreational facility; the purpose of which is to promote family and youth togetherness and spirit by providing recreational, educational and athletic opportunities accessible to all. This complex consists of a basketball gymnasium, meeting rooms and kitchen facilities.
The Jerome Brown Community Center can host a variety of community events with facilities for:
Social / Service clubs, Youth events, Receptions, Reunions;
Youth athletic activities, Motivational speakers' programs;
Drug prevention education / awareness activities for youth;
Opportunities for broad-based cultural and educational enhancements;

TODDLER PROGRAM
The Toddler Program is a 10-week program for children ages 2-5. The program begins September 14th - November 16th. The cost is $3.00 per child per day and will be held at the Jerome Brown Community Center.
START SMART PROGRAMS
The Start Smart Mission
The Start Smart Sports Development Programs were created to teach children the basic motor skills necessary to participate in organized sports while giving them the opportunity to work one-on-on with their parents. The programs were developed to be informative and fun, so children and parents will have a positive first time sports experience and continue participation in sports beyond this introductory level.
