"Florida Landscapes" Exhibit

The Uptown Art Gallery at Brooksville City Hall is pleased to announce a new and exciting exhibit entitled “Florida Landscapes." The State of Florida is very diverse in scope with landscapes.  The exhibit features poetry from Just Poets, artwork from the Nature Coast Art League, and Photography from the Spring Hill Camera Club.  There is also pottery and wordworking in the two new display cases that were obtained from a grant received by The Hernando County Arts Council, allowing art to be displayed in a more three-dimensional form. The "Florida Landscape" exhibit will be on display from April 29, 2017 through August 5, 2017.

All artwork in the gallery is for sale.  Perhaps you will find that special piece that you just cannot live without!

The Uptown Art Gallery was established in 1998 through the cooperative efforts of the City of Brooksville and the Hernando County Fine Arts Council.  The Gallery encourages artistic endeavors and provides a prominet location for local and regional artists to display their work.

The Uptown Art Gallery hosts five exhibits a year. Each exhibit reception is sponsored in part by the Brooksville Junior Service League and Hernando County Fine Arts Council.  Receptions are free and open to the public.

The Uptown Art Gallery is the permanent home of the Hernando Heritage Quilt.  The quilt is made up of 22 blocks, with each block portraying a part of the county’s history.

A catalog of the works by artist Mary A. Coogler (1879-1957) is archived at the Gallery.

The Uptown Art Gallery also has an extensive private collection of donated works that include the Lewis Watkins’ Historical Prints.
