Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund Print

The Municipal Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund Board of Trustees was created by Florida Statutes, 175.061.  The Board is composed of five members, two of whom are residents of the City; two full-time firefighters who are elected by the majority of the members of the plan; and the fifth member, who is not required to be a City resident, is chosen by a majority of the four members. Each member shall serve as a trustee for a period of four years from appointment. This board is a decision-making public body responsible for all pension trust fund management and administration of the plan pursuant to Chapter 175, Florida Statutes.  The board shall also make recommendations or provide guidance to City Council as it relates to revisions to the member's pension plan, which is approved by the City.

Listed below are members of the Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund Board of Trustees and their terms of office:

  • Regina Ann Martin, Chairman, Reappointed by City Council on April 4, 2009.  Ms. Martin's 4-year term of office will expire December 31, 2013.
  • Paul D. Babcock, Vice Chairman, Re-appointed by City Council on October 19, 2009 to a 4-year term of office.  Mr. Babcock's term of office will expire December 31, 2013.
  • Bradley W. Sufficool, Secretary, Elected by the members of the Fire Department in the Retirement System on March 2, 2012.  His term of office will expire December 31, 2013. (Replaced Joseph W. Keefer due to enrollment in the DROP Program)
  • Captain William C. Kaplan, Elected by the members of the Fire Department in the Retirement System on May 15, 2011.   His term of office will expire December 31, 2013. (Replaced Tim Mossgrove due to enrollment in the DROP Program)
  • Joseph Pecora, Appointed by the Board and ratified by Council on April 16, 2012, to fill an unexpired 4-year term of office as fifth member to the board expiring December 31, 2014. (Replaced Wayne Sufficool due to resignation)
